Bluestream Releases XDocs v2.1 DITA-enabled XML Content Management System

Vancouver B.C. – October 22, 2009 – Bluestream Database Software Corp. a pioneer and market leader in XML storage and XML content management technologies today announced a release of XDocs 2.1 XML content management system that enables technical writing departments of all size to create, store, manage and publish end-user documentation.  This version of XDocs has been in production and has been successfully used by end-users for over a month. 

Due to its rich feature set and flexible pricing model, XDocs has become a preferred choice across the board, from large enterprise to small- and medium-sized businesses.  The out-of-the box DITA capability enables companies of all sizes, and irrespective of their technical abilities, to install and deploy XDocs within hours rather than weeks or months.

Some of the new features supported in the XDocs 2.1 release:

Workflow. Fully configurable and integrated workflow system.  Allows for easy configuration of workflow(s) according to organizational processes. and not the other way around.  Ability to easily change workflow(s) in the middle of the project when necessary. Powerful reviewing and user / task analytic feature. 

Publishing. Fully supported labelling and “AsOf’ publish capability.  All publishing can be future –scheduled, content published according to state of repository on a particular date “AsOf” date.  HTML export – a full publication, as specified by DITA map, can be published as a set of compressed HTML files including all topics and images.

Adobe FrameMaker Integration. Tight integration with Adobe’s Structured FrameMaker (7.2, 8, and 9).  Log on and access the CMS repository via FrameMaker drop-down menu supported by Leximation’s DITA FMx.  Fully supports and works with DITA content and concepts.
