Bluestream announces OEM agreement with RenderX
Vancouver, BC, Canada, June 1, 2007—Bluestream Database Software Corp., leader in XML content management and database technology, announced today an OEM partnership with RenderX, the recognized industry leader for software used for standards-based, typeset-quality electronic and print output of business content and technical publications.
Bluestream has selected RenderX XEP engine as the primary publishing PDF and PostScript solutions for its XDocs content management system. The support for open standards and seamless configuration allows end-users to publish PDF documents without any knowledge of XML technologies.
Each XDocs CMS license will ship with an XEP Server, allowing all XDocs users within an organization access to publish well-styled documents. The integration is included in the license cost, and makes this unique single-source publishing solution ideal for budget-conscious organizations in need of sophisticated PDF output. “The natural fit between the RenderX and Bluestream technologies is just one of many things that make the partnership mutually beneficial,” stated Kevin Brown, Vice President of RenderX. “Our XEP engine is an enhancement to XDocs CMS publishing pipeline, and will undoubtfully bring a lot of value to our mutual customers.”
XEP Engine, a Java application, is an XSL-FO and SVG processor which applies an XSL transformation to XML content, building XSL Formatting Objects representations, and formats the Formatting Objects into PDF or PostScript outputs. XEP outputs documents in Adobe PDF version 1.3, 1.4 and 1.5. “This partnership means a lot to our end users,” adds Nenad Furtula, Bluestream’s Vice-President of Product Management. “Our goal to provide a superior single source publishing solution to budget-conscious organizations has never been closer to reality.”
